A Fire And Cyberattack Cause Major Blackouts Across Puerto Rico

A fire at a Luma Energy substation in San Juan knocked out power to hundreds of thousands of residents in Puerto Rico Thursday.

At the height of the blackout, nearly 800,000 customers were without power, according to Luma Energy. The company took over as the island’s power authority just 10 days ago.
